These scraps of paper are records of orders for disinterments. L. Shomer was the sexton during this time. It seems that the writing in the second color is in the hand of the worker who completed the job. The writing appears to be in German and in broken English. There is no record of any disinterments in 1877, but the Lincoln Park Commissioners' Annual Report listed cemetery lot exchanges and transactions from 1878 - 1895. See those records here. |
